These life insurance companies are highly regulated by the states in which they do business (typically all 50) and are continually monitored by the major independent rating agencies including AM Best Co., Moodys, and Standard & Poors. As such, they are considered very safe and conservative investment vehicles with the added comfort of knowing, in advance, the schedule of guaranteed periodic payments.
